This responsible supervisory position reports to the General Manager / President CEO. The position is responsible for the entire assigned Site supervision, including Head Lifeguards, Beach attendants, Maintenance staff, Divers and Lifeguards. This position is responsible for supervising the work of subordinate personnel engaged in aquatic programming, safety procedures and maintenance services by scheduling and evaluation work activities at the assigned facility.

Essential Job Functions

  • Supervised the daily operations of an aquatic center, beach, private party and/or other assigned location by ensuring compliance with all applicable policies, procedures, laws, regulations, and standards of quality and safety.
  • Establishes and enforces Aquatic site rules and operating procedures.
  • Supervises the daily activities of assigned Beach Attendants/lifeguards; supervisory duties include scheduling; instructing; assigning, reviewing and planning work of others; maintaining standards and coordinating activities. Reviews the work of subordinates for completeness and accuracy; evaluates performance and makes recommendations for improvement; offers training, advice and assistance as needed.
  • Oversees Wibit park maintenance.
  • Develops and directs various aquatic programs for park patrons.
  • Assists with the preparation of the division budget.
  • Coordinates the purchase of all aquatic supplies.
  • Plans and recommends improvements and the purchase of all related aquatic equipment.
  • Receives and responds to public inquiries and complaints about aquatic programs and policies.
  • Prepares for publication a variety of informational brochures, fliers and correspondence.
  • Works as a lifeguard and perform facility Maintenance as needed; performs rescue procedures and/or CPR and administers First Aid in emergency situations.
  • Receives reviews, prepares and/or submits various records and daily reports including job applications, performance appraisals, requisitions, monthly and quarterly reports, program proposals, attendance reports, daily receipts, memos, forms, correspondence, etc.
  • Operates a variety of office equipment such as a computer, printer, typewriter, isograph, audiovisual equipment, camera, calculator, copier, fax machine, telephone, etc.; operates and/or uses Wibit park equipment such as chemical feeders, testing devices, rescue equipment, Air compressor etc.
  • Interacts and communicates with various groups and individuals such as the immediate supervisor, other Jordanelle personnel, subordinates, sales representatives, customers, and the general public.

Additional Job Functions

  • Performs general administrative/office duties as required, including attending meetings, Job Interviews, preparing reports and correspondence, copying and filing documents, answering the telephone, faxing information, etc.
  • Performs related duties as required and or assigned by the General Manager / President CEO

Minimum Training & Experience

  • Requires a Bachelor’s degree in parks and recreation administration or related field, and a minimum of three (3) years’ experience in a supervisory capacity; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
  • Must possess CPR, First Aid certifications, Lifeguard Training.
  • For Swim Pools sites must be a CPO, AFO and Pool Inspector.
  • Required to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends and holidays.
